WAAFL Staff

David Armstrong, General Manager 

David was appointed General Manager in March 2012. He held previous positions as Chief Executive Officer Surf Life Saving WA; Chief Executive Officer Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation and Executive Director Curtin Student Guild.  In amateur football, he was a premiership player for Mount Lawley Amateur Football Club A-Grade and has been selected in WA amateur representative teams.  He has tertiary qualifications in communications and business, and is responsible for governance, planning, financial management, risk, commercial and sponsorships.

Geoff Palmer, Operations Manager

Geoff commenced his role as Operations Manager for the WAAFL in November 2004 after previously being General Manager, Sunday Football League from April 2000.  He has been involved in football for a number of years including as a player, coach, committee member and umpire. Geoff's role includes competition fixturing, umpiring, tribunals, investigations and West Coast Eagles State Amateur Program.

Ashlea Renshaw, Operations Coordinator

Ashlea joined the WAAFL in 2011. She currently plays in the WAWFL for Coastal Titans and is a former state womens football representative. Ashlea's role includes Fox Sports Pulse, player registrations and transfers, results and ladders as well as providing additional support to the Operations Manager.

Natalie Couch, Administration Manager

Natalie began working at the WAAFL in March 2002 as an administration assistant, processing registrations, clearances and match sheets. Her current role is responsible for managing the WAAFL finances, Medal Presentation Dinner, events, coaching, club contact database, CUB allocations, awards and the AAFC.

Jessica Hancock, Marketing and Communications Officer

Jessica joined the WAAFL in August 2015. She currently plays for the East Perth Women's Football Club in the WAWFL and is a WA Female Football Ambassador. Jessica holds a Master of Professional Communications. She is responsible for the WAAFL website, social media platforms, promotions and media. 

 


 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Greg Gilbee, Integrated Football Coordinator

Greg joined the WAAFL in March 2013 as Integrated Football Coordinator. Greg keeps an active involvement in WA football as he is heavily involved with the WAFC umpiring department in an honorary role. His role sees him responsible for the co-ordinating Integrated Football program including recruitment, promotion, national competitions, operations and event organising.

 

 

 

Brendan Kays, Competition Integrity Officer 

Brendan is a former Detective Sergeant WA Police, Perth FC Football Manager and WAFC District Development Officer. His role is to educate players and clubs in governance, alcohol & other drugs, and respect & responsibility. He also investigates breaches of the WAAFL integrity policies.
