WAAFL Staff

David Armstrong, General Manager
David was appointed General Manager in March 2012 after consulting to the sport and not-for-profit sector, and as a Director – Timeglow Promotional, Corporate and Sportswear P/L a family owned business.

He has held previous positions as a National Development Officer NSW Surf Life Saving; Chief Executive Officer Surf Life Saving WA; Chief Executive Officer Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation and Executive Director Curtin Student Guild.

In amateur football, he was a premiership player for Mount Lawley Amateur Football Club A-Grade and was selected in the state U/21 and senior teams.

He has tertiary qualifications in communication and business, and has been a Board member – WA Sports Federation since 2005 and Chair – Cycling WA 2010-11.


Geoff Palmer, Operations Manager
Geoff commenced his role as Operations Manager for the WAAFL in November 2004 after previously being General Manager of the Sunday Football League from April 2000.

He has been involved in football for a number of years including as a player, coach, committee member and umpire, as well as keeping an active involvement in cricket.

Geoff's role includes competition fixturing, By-Law amendments, tribunals, investigations and the successful WAAFL West Coast Eagles State Amateur Programs.

 


Ashlea Renshaw, Operations Coordinator
Ashlea joined the WAAFL in 2011, providing support to the Operations Team. After leaving the role in September 2011, she accepted a casual position as Operations Assistant in January 2012. In June 2012,  Ashlea accepted the full time role as Operations Coordinator.

Ashlea keeps an active involvement in football on the field as a player for Coastal Titans in the WA Women's Football League.

Her role sees her responsible for WAAFL registrations and clearances, team sheets, sporting pulse & tribunal, as well as providing additional support to the Operations Manager.

 

 

Georgina Gaff, Operations Assistant

Georgie started her role with the WAAFL as Operations Assistant in February 2013 after graduating from Year 12 in 2012.

Her role is responsible for registrations, clearances and team sheets.

 

 

 


Natalie Couch, Volunteer and Administration Manager
Natalie began working at the WAAFL in March 2002 as an administration assistant, processing registrations, clearances and match sheets.

Her current role see's her responsible for managing the WAAFL finances, publications and events, including major functions such as the Hall of Champions and WAAFL Medal Presentation Dinner.


 

 

Tayla Daniele, Administration Assistant
Tayla joined the WAAFL as an administration assistant in February 2012.

Tayla's role is to provide assistance to the Volenteer and Adminstration Manager as well as general enquiries and general administration duties.

 

 

 

 

Sophie James, Marketing and Media Officer
Sophie started working at the WAAFL in May of 2012 in a part time role as the Integrated Football Coordinator. After this role finished in October 2012, Sophie was offered and accepted, a full time position as Marketing and Media Officer.

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Communications, with a double major in Marketing and Advertising through Edith Cowan University.

Her role sees her responsible for maintenance of the WAAFL website and social media platforms, promotion of the WAAFL and coordination of all WAAFL media communications.
